    British accent sucks, not becauss it's tough, because I can speak in british accent very well... but I feel this accent annoying, overpronounsing almost every word and underpronounsing the rest...

      Okay, I guess you don't understand. Let's play a little experiment... Try saying this fast, but syllable by syllable: WHAT - TIME - DID - YOU - GET - UP? Now try it like this: WHAT - TIME - DID - YOU - GE - TUP? Which was easier to pronounce? As an English speaker and literally just speaking out loud to myself just now, I don't do any of this and have never heard of anything about this before. It's the flow of the mouth and speed of talking, if you pronunciation correctly this just doesn't happen.

    • @PapiEnglish
      @PapiEnglish День тому

      It's connected speech, it's widely accepted and understood that we connect consonants and vowels together from separate words when speaking naturally.

    • @lukefreeman828
      @lukefreeman828 День тому

      As an English speaker I just don’t believe you. I’ve never heard anyone but royalty *not* speak this way. Pretty sure you just can’t hear yourself or you’re expecting the way it’s said in the video (heavily emphasised) to be the way people speak irl. It’s obviously more subtle.

    • @PapiEnglish
      @PapiEnglish День тому

      @@lukefreeman828 That's correct! In the first examples I'm emphasising it to make it clear. At the end of the video I say it quicker. 👍

    • @norabseven

      Well yeah, every single language in the world will be like that as it's mouth flow, you don't connect words that don't have a smooth transition because it does flow from your mouth. Like "Start Practising" you can't connect but "Stop Practising" you can. You're presenting it like it's something you need to learn to speak with, as a choice for the speaker, which I would argue it's not it just comes about with fluency of the language.

      I think it's a good way for learners to practice speaking. Teacher Sam is giving one of a wide variety of techniques to pronounce better. Sure, there's the IPA and it should be taught this way but for those who are not into linguistics and don't understand the phonetics symbols, it's a good way to learn. Be open to different ways of learning. Just saying...
